Sustainability in our restaurants’ daily operations Responsibility in everyday life Sustainability Responsibility in everyday life Environment and Climate Carbon Footprint Calculation NoHo Partners group conducted its first carbon footprint assessment in 2024. The results are available in the Sustainability Report EcoCompass Certification The Finnish Association for Nature Conservation has granted the EcoCompass environmental certificate to NoHo Events venues and Sushibar + Wine restaurants. This certificate is based on ten criteria and requires the implementation and monitoring of an environmental program. Sustainability practices have become a natural part of the daily operations in these venues. Vegetarian Options All restaurants offer vegetarian options, and many also feature fully vegan menus. Reducing Food Waste Our restaurants show great creativity in minimizing food waste. Surplus salads are donated to HESY (The Helsinki Society for Animal Protection) and sometimes to Korkeasaari Zoo. Through the ResQ app, over 2,400 meals have been saved from becoming waste. Used coffee grounds are sent back to the roastery for reuse. At events, e.g. trade fairs, during the final hour, waste is reduced by selling products that can no longer be sold the next day, at half price. Recycling Recycling is a key part of everyday operations. We prioritize recycling wherever facilities allow. Internally, NoHo operates its own “marketplace” to repurpose equipment and supplies between restaurants. Restaurant Nokka Restaurant Nokka is a pioneer in wild-grown and sustainable food. In 2024, the restaurant was awarded the MICHELIN Green Star, a prestigious recognition for restaurants leading the way in sustainable practices. More on Nokka’s sustainability work. Hook Rauma Hinku Network, Towards Carbon Neutral Rauma (since 2022). The restaurant continuously assesses and develops its environmental impact, focusing on eco-friendly operations and procurement. Tampere Hall Tampere Hall won the Organic Finnish Championships 2024 competition, organized under the Steps to Organic program. This award recognizes professional kitchens that actively promote the use of organic ingredients and sustainable operations. Social Responsibility, and Good Governance Food Donations In autumn 2024, we donated nearly 3,000 kg of food to the No Fixed Abode association (VVA Ry), supporting their daily food services at three locations. We’ve also supported Stadin Safka, a local food aid initiative. Charity Contributions Our restaurants participate in various charity initiatives. On International Women’s Day, for example, part of sales from selected products were donated to Women’s Line. We’ve also supported UNICEF’s Empty Bowl event through product donations and fundraising. Sushibar + Wine / WWF Together with WWF, we created the New Nordic Set, featuring only green-listed domestic fish from the WWF seafood guide. For every set sold, EUR 0.50 was donated to WWF’s work for protecting the Baltic Sea, totaling EUR 5,000 in 2024. The collaboration continues in 2025.
